Madras Boat Club

Way back in 1867 a group of few Englishmen founded coat club in Madras(Chennai).  If you go and visit boat club office at Chennai, archives pictures gallery shows the usage of backwaters of Ennore. It was first rowing facilities started by Englishmen. currently Madras Boat Club is located in Chennai and it has many affiliated members. In 1892 club was shifted to Adyar river for rowing.  At present Chennai boat club has 27 affiliate members in India and 8 affiliate members outside India.

In 1977 with the efforts of members of madras boat club, Rowing Federation of India was established and first national rowing championship was held at Kolkata. After that there are several events was organised at different locations. In 1982 rowing was first introduced i Asian Games. In 1983 Indian rowers took part in world Rowing championship.  since 90's club has been witnessed remarkable changes such as modernization of club facilities, acquired boats from USA etc.

As a part of wagria it has been settled in the early middle ages. After their winning they were Germanized.

Fehmarn Island is located in Baltic Sea, which is located in the  Ostholstein region in the northern part of Germany, it is the  4th largest island covers 185 sq. km area  with 13 villages. Fehmarn Sound Bridge, is connect Fehmarn with road and railway.   It is best place to visit for the weekend. Seasoned sailors as well as yacht charter take the route to the southern part of the island, which are the most suitablemarina.

The climate of the Fuhrman is sunny and suitable for the sailors. The fehmare pool complex is located on south beach promenade, the main attraction of the Fehmarn Island are swimming pools, and saunas. 

The main places for visit to Island are its natural landscape, natural parks, the Meereszentrum Neptun,  the St. Jurgen Chapel,  the church of St. Nikolai etc.

Royal Bombay Yatch Club

Sailing in Yatch in Mumbai was started in 1830 and the Bombay Yatch Club was founded in 1846. It was started withpout any office and operated through corporate office or Apollo Bunder and various other premises.

The Royal Bombay Yacht Club was established  in 1876 as governor of Bombay requested  her Majesty Queen Victoria  to start Bombay Yacht Club as Royal Bombay Yacht Club. It was established at Bombay Port Trust at Wellington Reclamation adjoining Marine Parade with 50 years on lease. Ar. John Adams was designed building and it was opened up in 1881 and building was completed in 1883.  It consist of Billard Room, Reading Room and many other facilities.

In 1894 The Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty granted permission for the club to fly the blue Ensign of the Fleet with the distinctive marks of the Club on the fly thereof . The following year a similar concession, with certain riders, was granted to Yachts belonging to the Club.

RYA Raymarine Yachtmaster Conference 2015

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA), is the national body for all forms of boating, including dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sports boats, powerboat racing, windsurfing, inland cruising and narrowboats, and personal watercraft.

About the conference:

The conference is open to RYA Yachtmaster and Cruising Instructors, Examiners and Principals.  

This year there will not be a keynote speaker, instead a detailed presentation on the recent tragic loss of Cheeki Rafiki will be delivered, including the findings from the MAIB investigation and some guidance on what we as instructors can do to help better educate our students on some of the lessons learned.

The Cyclades Islands a Greater Destination of Greece

Cyclades consist of 23 islands like a ring of the ancient islands of Delos with its ancient history with temples and other structures.

The Cyclades island include Paros , Syros, Sifnos, Naxos, Serifos,  Ios, Santorini  standing on volcanic plates. However sun set points are attracting more travelers. Apart from that there other islands located at south are Donousa, Naxos Schinousa, Heraklia and beautiful Koufonisia.
